Jenny S. Wread
Jenny found her way to West Marin by way of the East Bay. This East-West migration seems fitting for someone who was born in Hong Kong, raised in Seattle, came of age in Oakland, and finally settled into family life in West Marin.
When she fled rainy Seattle for Mills College in Oakland, she was drawn by the promise of abundant sunshine and a unique liberal arts education at the first women's college West of the Mississippi. She got both! Obtaining her degree with a focus on print journalism, Jenny took an internship at the New York Times before returning to California to write for the Oakland Tribune, the Contra Costa Times, and the Tribune in San Luis Obispo.
She caught the real estate bug after completing a major renovation of a duplex she and her builder husband bought together when they were in their early 20s. They completed the renovation on a shoestring budget while keeping their sanity, humor, and marriage intact. Hint: Remember that one day you'll look back on this and laugh. Hysterically.
When opportunity knocked in West Marin, Jenny and her husband jumped at the chance. As longtime seekers of the West Marin Life - their second date was at Limantour Beach - they relished the thought of raising their daughters in a place of incredible natural beauty.
Our family is so grateful to live in a one of the most beautiful stretches of the California coast, and be a part of this community.
